J.K. Rowling Earns £5 Every Second

According to the Forbes magazine J.K. Rowling is the world’s highest-earning author. This woman is capable of earning more than £5 every second. The most interesting part is that the gap between the Harry Potter author and the next literature’s biggest earner, James Patterson is $250 million!!! Rowling was called a sensation. I love the phrase in Forbes: "...it was wizardry that transformed JK Rowling from a destitute single mother on welfare into a best-selling billionaire..."
But not only Harry Potter books are selling so good the same situation is with movies. No, frankly speaking, the situation is even better. Harry Potter big screen franchise has already generated $4.5bn and it is not the end … The success is tremendous: her books have sold more than 400 million copies and you can meet them on 67 languages.

Synopsis

Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort's defenses and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information. Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different adversary as teenage hormones rage across the ramparts. Harry finds himself more and more drawn to Ginny, but so is Dean Thomas. And Lavender Brown has decided that Ron is the one for her, only she hadn't counted on Romilda Vane's chocolates! And then there's Hermione, simpering with jealously but determined not to show her feelings. As romance blossoms, one student remains aloof. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again.

Cast of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

The sixth Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, will be released into theatres on July 17, 2009, and fans of the film based on J.K. Rowling's sixth Harry Potter book of the same name can expect to see a few additional characters brought to life on the silver screen.

Joining Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), will be actors Jessie Cave, who will be playing Lavender Brown; Hero Fiennes-Tiffin who will play a young Tom Riddle, a.k.a Lord Voldemort and bringing to life Hogwarts newest professor, Professor Horace Slughorn, will be Jim Broadbent.

Jessie Cave as "Lavender Brown"

In J.K. Rowling's seven Harry Potter books, the character of Lavender Brown is present from day one, constantly hanging out with fellow Gryffindor Pavarti Patil, but in the first five Harry Potter films, Lavender Brown was nixed from the storyline.

But in this sixth installment of Warner Brother's Harry Potter film series, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, actress Jessie Cave will bring the character of Lavender Brown to life on the silver screen.

Hero Fiennes-Tiffin as "Young Tom Riddle"

Hero Fiennes-Tiffin will take on the role of the young orphan Tom Riddle, who is introduced to Professor Albus Dumbledore, who visits the orphanage to invite the magical youngster to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he slowly begins his transformation into the evil Lord Voldemort.

The resemblance between the actor who plays a young Tom Riddle and Ralph Fiennes, who plays the adult Lord Voldemort is not coincidental; Hero Fiennes-Tiffin is Fiennes' nephew.

Jim Broadbent as "Professor Horace Slughorn"

Actor Jim Broadbent will bring Professor Horace Slughorn to life in this sixth Harry Potter film, in which his character will deliver a very important memory to Harry, helping him in his mission to take on the Dark Lord.

The slightly eccentric character of Professor Horace Slughorn is introduced to readers at the very beginning of Rowling's Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Dumbledore is escorting Harry to The Burrow, when they pay a visit to former Hogwarts teacher and Slytherin House head Professor Slughorn. They tempt him out of retirement to take up the positions of potions professor, while Professor Severus Snape finally gets the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.

What's Next for the Harry Potter Cast?

At the end of 2008, the sixth Harry Potter film installment was in post production. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince will be released in theatres on July 19, 2009.

The Harry Potter cast's next project involves filming the first of the final two Harry Potter films.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the seventh, final and longest book in J.K. Rowling's beloved series, will be turned into two films. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 is tentatively slated for release into theatres on November 19, 2010, while the final Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 will arrive in theatres in May 2011.

Director David Yates, who has also directed Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, is on board for the final two Harry Potter films. Notably, he's the only director to ever direct more than one Harry Potter movie.

As of November 2008, Warner Bros. Studios had announced that many of the core cast members are already on-board to return for the final Harry Potter installments, including Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Emma Watson (Hermione Granger), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) and Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange).

Dan, Robert, and Emma on Hollywood's Hottest Stars

AOL Moviefone has posted their latest list, this being “25 Under 25: Hollywood’s Hottest Stars.” Included on the list are Emma Watson (Hermione Granger), Dan Radcliffe (Harry Potter) and Robert Pattinson (Cedric Diggory). Remarks on each of the three are as follows:

“Dan Radcliffe. What He’s Done: Best known as the beloved boy wizard from the ‘Harry Potter’ films, he’s also made headlines by going full frontal for the London stage revival of ‘Equus.’ What’s Next: ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’ is due in theaters next summer, and -after putting his “wand” on display in the Broadway run of ‘Equus’ – he’ll return to London to begin filming the two-part ‘Potter’ finale, ‘The Deathly Hallows.’ Industry Buzz: “As you can see by the work he has done outside of ‘Potter,’ he embraces challenges,” says ‘Potter’ producer David Heyman. “He is a remarkably curious young man who is eager to be the very best at whatever he does, yet retains great humility and decency.”

“Robert Pattinson. What He’s Done: The Londoner was Hufflepuff Quidditch stud Cedric Diggory in two installments of ‘Harry Potter’ (‘Goblet of Fire’ and ‘Order of the Phoenix’). What’s Next: Hopefully ‘Potter’ hysteria prepared him well for playing vampire dreamboat Edward Cullen in the next page-to-screen phenomenon, ‘Twilight.’ Industry Buzz: “His career could be extremely unique,” director Catherine Hardwicke (‘Twilight’) tells us. “He’s a powerful, sexy leading man and slips incredibly well into different periods and styles. I’d also love to see him work on Tim Burton-esque films where he has the opportunity to create completely wild, original characters that become classics.”

“Emma Watson. What She’s Done: As Hermione in five ‘Harry Potter’ pics, Watson has blossomed in front of eyes, from cute kid to- dare we say it- hot young adult. What’s Next: She’ll voice Princess Pea in this winter’s ‘The Tale of Desperaux,’ then really break out of the ‘Potter’ mold in ‘09’s ‘Napoleon and Betsy.’ Of course she also has three more ‘Potter’ hits on the way. Industry Buzz: “She is one of the brightest people I have ever met, with a razor-sharp mind,” says ‘Harry Potter’ producer David Heyman. “After seeing her work in ‘Half-Blood Prince,’ I can assuredly say she can do it all. She is a great comedienne, and brings real gravitas to the dramatic scenes.
